The Best Pregnancy Book

I'm pretty sure I have officially read every single baby book out there...and more are being shipped to me as we speak! I want to make sure I know all the ins and outs (well, as much as one can possibly know before baby comes and changes everything!)

A lot of the books that I've read have been such great help with all the medical, scientific stuff that I otherwise am clueless about. Belly Laughs and Tales of a First Time Mom provided me with lots of laughs, and all the gross stuff most books don't tell you.

However, I felt that I was really lacking in the spiritual side of my pregnancy. Of course I have the Bible, but I'm the kind of person that needs some direction when it comes to navigating through scripture for specific circumstances. That's when I found this book.

Duhh duh duh duhh!!!

This book has (literally) been my saving grace. Pregnancy can be so beautiful, but so terrifying at the same time. This book is realistic, yet focuses on the positivity that comes through each hormone filled day.

Sometimes I feel like I can get away with being a crazy, psycho pregnant lady because hey, I'm pregnant! And there's no way that anyone else in the whole wide world could possibly understand how uncomfortable my body is with swelling feet and a growing belly. Right?!
The author has been there (4 times), she gets it; but she also gets that we still have to try and be Christ-like through it all.

She also gives lists. Which makes me SO HAPPY. What you really need before baby, what you don't, what to bring to the hospital, what to make sure is done at home. It's awesome! All right there lined up for me to jot down so I'm more prepared.

However, my most favorite part of the entire book are the "Time Out for Mom" sections. These include a scripture (or scriptures) and a prayer that relate to all the different battles/joys of pregnancy. I really, really needed this. Labor is really scary to me, but there's an entire page of scripture that I can now turn to that reminds me that God has promised me what is best for me, and that Jack is His child. He will take care of us, no matter what the circumstance is.

So, to my mama's out there looking for some peace and helpful, spiritual, uplifting baby information: BUY THIS BOOK. It keeps me centered and really focused on the fact that I am creating God's miracle because He chose me. There's nothing more beautiful than that. :)
